  • One supported broker/account on QuantConnect Cloud
  • Restart recovery, order handling + risk controls
  • 10 trading days of paper acceptance
  • One client-approved assisted live launch
  • Operating runbook + 2 training sessions

Delivery starts after complete requirements, agreed scope and required access. Account readiness and client dependencies are agreed upfront. Platform, data and brokerage charges are separate.

Scope and boundaries

See exactly what each project includes

Strategy implementation · $1,000

Defined implementation

  • One straightforward strategy using standard price/volume data, up to five fixed US stock/ETF tickers, and hourly or daily bars.
  • Python source, agreed backtest, documented settings and assumptions, operating guide, senior review and a 30-minute handover.
  • Selected Python or Pine Script migrations after scope review.

Delivery and limits

  • 14 calendar days; one revision round within the original scope.
  • Defects against agreed rules may be reported for correction for 14 calendar days after final delivery.
  • Strategy discovery, extensive optimisation, complex options/futures, custom data and paper/live deployment are excluded.
Portfolio development & testing · $3,000

Portfolio implementation and analysis

  • Kickoff and written agreement on signals, allocation, execution timing and acceptance criteria.
  • One defined strategy across up to 20 US stocks/ETFs; hourly or daily data.
  • One allocation method, one rebalancing schedule and up to three agreed risk controls.
  • Reproducible backtests, one benchmark and a chronological development/holdout split.
  • One sensitivity study with up to 12 parameter combinations, plus agreed fee/slippage stress scenarios.
  • Report on returns, drawdowns, exposure, turnover, trade behaviour and material limitations.

Handover and boundaries

  • Commented source, configuration guide and a 60-minute walkthrough.
  • 21 calendar days after complete requirements and access; two in-scope revision rounds.
  • 30 days after acceptance for implementation defects.
  • Holdout data stays untouched until the agreed final evaluation. Weak or negative results remain valid findings.
  • Discovery, ML, options/futures, alternative data, tick-level execution, large dynamic universes and paper/live deployment are quoted separately.

Indicative milestones: $600 specification → $1,800 implementation → $600 testing and handover.

Trading system & deployment · from $10,000

Baseline system scope

  • Written rules, system architecture, dependencies and acceptance plan.
  • One portfolio algorithm, up to two defined signal components and up to 50 US stocks/ETFs; agreed minute, hourly or daily data.
  • Allocation, exposure and position limits, plus agreed conditions for suspending new orders.
  • Reproducible backtests, agreed out-of-sample evaluation and bounded sensitivity/cost analysis.
  • One supported brokerage integration, such as IBKR, using one client account and QuantConnect Cloud.
  • Relevant state persistence, restart recovery, order-state tracking and agreed rejection/partial-fill handling.
  • Logs, runtime statistics and agreed notifications using existing platform capabilities.

Acceptance, launch and handover

  • 10 trading days of paper acceptance, with scheduled business-day checks and a findings log. Controlled tests cover infrequent events.
  • One assisted live launch only after client approval; operating runbook and two training sessions.
  • Typical planning window: approximately 6–8 weeks. Initial delivery commitment: 60 calendar days, with account readiness and client dependencies agreed upfront.
  • Two revisions within the signed specification; 30 days of defect support after final acceptance.
  • Completion may remain in paper trading if the agreed paper acceptance and deployment handover criteria are met.
  • Custom dashboards/connectors, self-hosting, multiple accounts, complex derivatives, ML research, custom data pipelines and ongoing monitoring are separately quoted.

Indicative milestones: $1,000 specification → $4,000 implementation and validation → $2,500 controls and paper deployment → $2,500 acceptance, handover and assisted launch.

Deliverables

A clear handover, from code to operation

Editable Python source

Your agreed trading rules implemented for QuantConnect, with the scope and assumptions documented.

Reproducible testing

Backtests you can rerun. The portfolio and deployment packages add the validation agreed in their scope.

Documented handover

Guidance on running the code and interpreting its behaviour, with walkthroughs matched to your package.

Delivery process

From your specification to handover

01

Confirm

Agree the rules, assumptions, test settings and acceptance criteria.

02

Implement

Build the strategy in Python for the agreed instruments and timeframe.

03

Verify

Complete the agreed backtests and checks. Deployment projects also go through paper acceptance.

04

Hand over

Deliver the source and documentation. Assist with launch when included and approved.

Practical questions, answered

Which package fits my project?

Choose implementation for a straightforward, defined strategy. Choose portfolio development and testing when allocation, rebalancing and robustness analysis matter. Choose the trading-system package when you also need operational controls, paper acceptance and assisted deployment. We confirm fit before contracting.

Do I need a defined strategy?

Yes. These packages implement and evaluate agreed trading rules. Strategy discovery and open-ended research need a separate scope.

Can you migrate my existing code?

Selected Python and Pine Script strategies can fit after a scope review. Share the existing code and expected behaviour before ordering.

What do revisions and defect corrections cover?

The $1,000 package includes one revision and a 14-day defect-reporting window after final delivery. The $3,000 package includes two revisions and 30 days of implementation-defect support after acceptance. Trading-system projects include two revisions and 30 days of defect support after final acceptance. Revisions stay within the agreed specification; new features are separately scoped.

Does testing promise a profitable strategy?

No. Weak or negative historical results are valid findings. The portfolio holdout remains untouched until final evaluation. The 10-day paper acceptance window checks software behaviour, including orders, recovery, controls, logs and notifications; it does not establish investment performance.

Is live deployment mandatory?

Only the trading-system package includes an assisted live launch, and the client must approve it. You can elect to remain in paper trading and complete the project against agreed paper acceptance and deployment handover criteria.

Are platform costs and ongoing monitoring included?

QuantConnect, data and brokerage charges remain client expenses. The trading-system package includes scheduled business-day checks during paper acceptance. Ongoing monitoring and operational support require a separate agreement.

How should I share confidential strategy details?

Start with a high-level outline. Agree confidentiality and access arrangements before sharing sensitive code or strategy details.
